Discover the perfect pairing that is bacon and bourbon when the Delray Beach Bacon & Bourbon Fest returns with new surprises this weekend.
The second annual event, taking place Friday, March 18, and Saturday, March 19, will bring over 40 fine bourbons, bacon-inspired foods, live music and more to the grounds of Old School Square.
This year, the festival will feature six full bourbon bars; a private Speakeasy-style lounge called the Bourbon Library, which will feature hourly releases of rare bourbons; and an interactive tented area.
Bourbon & Bacon Fest will feature new signature drinks, including Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade, Prohibition Punch and Pork My Peach, served in acrylic mason jars.
Of course, don't forget about the food. Attendees can choose from the extensive bacon and pork-related street food selection, including Dr. Pepper- and bourbon-glazed pork belly, bacon crab cakes with bourbon sauce, and even a bacon bar featuring dipped bacon strips with topping combos like caramel almond, chocolate peanut and pecan rosemary.
The Delray Beach Ben & Jerry's store is also creating a signature ice cream flavor—Bourbon Brown Butter—for the festival.
On top of enjoying soulful live performances, guests can unwind by playing backyard games, like corn hole and bocce ball, and watching a pig race planned for the event.
Additional experiences, from seminars and tastings to four-course pairing dinners or brunch, range from $59 to $300.
Delray Beach Bacon & Bourbon Fest takes places from noon to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is $25 per day; children under 5 get in free.
Advance tickets can be purchased online at the festival's website until 7 a.m. Tuesday, March 15. After that, tickets must be bought at the gate on the day of the festival.
