Tonia Ryan earned a computer science degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, owned a chain of 24/7 tanning salons and even co-wrote a book before moving to South Florida to open the apparel and skincare boutique Inance.
“I used to sell every skincare brand you can think of under the sun,” Ryan says. “I got tired of making all of these companies rich, and I decided to start my own.” Originally, Inance launched in 2012 as a skincare brand with a focus on bringing the newest advances and products to customers at a reasonable price.
With her numerous West Coast connections, Ryan began incorporating apparel at Inance in November, when she launched her first storefront in Pompano Beach. Ryan has since opened a store at Town Center at Boca Raton and will open a third storefront at Town Center in May, offering a different selection of products from what’s available at the current location.
The Brand
At Inance, the goal is to make women feel like they’re shopping in their own walk-in closet, with ample racks to peruse for a perfect look for every occasion. With thousands of items in stock, finding an outfit for a wedding or a casual day at the beach just got easier as the boutique sells clothing at all price points. Shoppers can find handmade lingerie and bikinis made in Beverly Hills, many of which Ryan has designed herself. There are rompers, jumpsuits, maxi dresses, shorts, tops, denim and more designed by the same clothing manufacturers A-list celebrities wear. The store also features Snazy by Inance—a young, contemporary line—along with Inance skincare products, fragrances and chemical-free nail polishes.
Come the end of April, Inance will sell a Disney + Sugarbird design collection of licensed, high-end women’s couture featuring favorites like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. “We got the exclusive for South and Central Florida, including Orlando and online as well,” Ryan says.
Personable Shopping
Inance is the place Ryan wants women to visit in order to look good, feel good and leave having had a good time. “We’re so different. There is nothing like us in South Florida,” Ryan says. “We have this West Coast feel to us. We’re fun, fresh, new and trendy.”
Ryan also provides a VIP membership at Inance, with which guests can earn 20 percent off each shopping trip. “The most important thing is that you listen to the customer—what do they want, what are their needs, how can I help them and make them feel great? That’s the goal with every customer,” she says.
