Seafood swept from seas around the world will be flown to Boca Raton when Ouzo Bay, an upscale Greek restaurant, opens this summer.
The contemporary Mediterranean eatery flies in whole fish daily in order to offer a menu of the freshest seafood and highest quality ingredients. Ouzo Bay is also known for its posh full-service bar serving craft cocktails, small-batch whiskeys and a Greek wine list.
Owners from Atlas Restaurant Group hope to open Ouzo Bay in Mizner Park by late summer 2016.
Although Ouzo Bay's flagship restaurant is located in Baltimore, Maryland, the owners have been familiar with the Boca Raton market for years. They were excited when the opportunity arose to open up shop at Mizner.
"South Florida and Boca Raton diners are similar to the demographic that dines at Ouzo Bay in Baltimore, having notable experience and knowledge of many varieties of seafood," an Atlas Restaurant Group representative said.
Ouzo Bay's selection of fresh whole fish includes dover sole, yellowtail, red snapper, and Mediterranean sea bream and sea bass. Other offerings from the land include prime steaks, grass-fed lamb and organic chicken. Yelp and OpenTable estimate the price point for a meal to range between $31 and $60.
The Grilled Octopus appetizer, which is tossed with sweet onions and red peppers in a red wine caper vinaigrette, and the Flaming Saganaki, a pan-fried cheese flambeed tableside with Brandy, are two customer favorites.
The Boca Raton restaurant's design will emulate that of the flagship Baltimore location—reflecting a Mediterranean influence in a modern way. It will offer 225 seats indoors and an additional 100 on the outdoor patio. Ouzo Bay will also have a 30-seat private cigar lounge.
