Wine and art lovers can enjoy two of their favorite things during a special culinary and cultural tour this week.
On Wednesday, Nov. 30, Savor Our City's Wine & Art Lovers tour through Pineapple Grove will combine a wine tasting tour with a wine painting class—a pairing as great as wine and cheese itself. Yes, that's Wine Wednesday done right.
The experience, which lasts from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., includes food and wine tastings, gallery visits in Pineapple Grove Arts District, and a painting class at Vino Van Gogh, an art studio and wine bar in Delray. The tour will continue to be offered the last Wednesday of every month.
Boca Raton resident Denise Righetti, who calls herself Savor Our City's C.F.O.—that stands for Chief Foodie Officer—will lead the three-hour walking tour through Pineapple Grove restaurants, cafes, boutiques and galleries, where guests can expect to encounter artists in action creating new works.
The food and wine tour stops at N2 Winebar, Papa's Tapas, and 3rd & 3rd, with samplings including wine with assorted cheeses and charcuterie, Spanish tapas and sangria, gourmet flatbread, Caesar Brussels sprouts, and dessert.
During the group session at Vino Van Gogh that follows, participants will listen to an instructor's step-by-step directions to recreate their own masterpieces. And as any guided art class should offer, a variety of beer, wine and champagne will be available for purchase.
The walking tour and painting package is $75 (a session at Vino Van Gogh alone averages $35), and the price includes food and wine at each restaurant stop, the painting session, artwork to take home, and gratuity. (Wine by the glass at Vino Van Gogh is additional.)
In Boca Raton, Savor Our City regularly takes guests on culinary walking tours through Mizner Park or Royal Palm Place, depending on the season, and in Delray, Righetti mixes it up with different highlights along Atlantic Avenue—all infused with historical tidbits. Her specialty culinary events have also included wine and popcorn pairing nights at The Original Popcorn House in Delray Beach and chocolate making classes at a factory in Fort Lauderdale.
Savor Our City also offers private group tours and has recently expanded into Miami, Boston, and Maine.
