Delray locals will soon have a place to go for a guaranteed healthy, but downright delicious meal.

When Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar opens in the Delray Place shopping center on North Federal Highway, guests will find an under-500 calorie menu of seasonal, farm-to-table dishes that change every three months.

"For every season, we have a brand new menu," general manager TJ Elbahm said. "We work with about 75 farms."

The harvest-centric eatery is, appropriately, set to open shortly after Thanksgiving.

The Pennsylvania-based restaurant chain has six locations throughout the Northeast, but the Delray Beach restaurant will be the first in Florida. Elbahm said it’s easy to see why the area is a fit.

“[I]n South Florida, a lot of people are watching what they're eating,” he said. “People are getting more educated down here, getting fit and healthy.”

From bison burgers and beef short rib to sea scallops and swordfish, most menu items are 500 calories or fewer, and the handful that aren't are labeled as such (as opposed to most restaurants, where it's the other way around).

"A lot of times when you dine out, you're looking at 1,000 to 1,200 calories," service manager Kelsey Silverman said. "[Harvest's] portion sizes are still good for being where they are calorie count-wise."

The restaurant is also allergy-friendly, offering menu options appealing to people who maintain vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free diets.

Harvest Seasonal Grill will offer about 50 wines by the glass, including organic wine options, and draft beers from craft breweries. The cocktail menu, which features fresh fruits and herbs, will constantly be changing as well.

To complement the sustainable menu, the upscale-casual restaurant features eco-friendly decor—stonework with river rocks; warm, dark woods; recycled glass bar tops; and fresh plants and greenery throughout.

Harvest Seasonal Grill is now hiring candidates for front- and back-of-house positions (managers, bartenders, servers, hosts, line cooks and more). Interested applicants can stop by the restaurant now through Sunday, Nov. 13, from 10 a.m to 8 p.m. to fill out an application and speak to a hiring manager.
