Couture Homes
Developer | Gary Hartogh
Designer | Pauline Hartogh

Spatial Planning

The goal was to create an open plan contemporary design. As you enter the home there is a dramatic open marble and glass staircase with unobstructed water views leading to light-filled living areas featuring full-height glazing and picture windows with access to the outdoor areas.

Creative Inspiration

To goal was to create a modern, luxury custom waterfront home that’s eco-friendly combining contemporary architectural elements of bold simple forms with natural materials such as slate quartzite stone cladding on the exterior.

Flawless finishes and perfectly appointed details were used to provide a level of refinement desired by the discerning homeowners. Among five en-suite bedrooms are two unique master suites, one on the first floor and one on the second floor. Spatial Planning

The secret to the success of this outdoor space is the professional planning utilized in the limited space. Areas for dining, swimming, lounging and conversation were all incorporated into the unique and elegant oceanfront outdoor space. From the pool and spa to the relaxing pergola lounge, comfort and enjoyment were in the design.

Creative Inspiration

Drawing inspiration from the beauty and elegance of the home’s Italian villalike elements, this luxurious outdoor space transports family and guests to a Mediterranean retreat. As soon as guests enter the space, they will feel they have been whisked away to the waters and wonders of an unbelievable resort.

Design Innovation

Capitalizing on soaring columns and arches, the Hughes team added a pergola/cabana, water elements and a beautifully lit water wall entry. With illumination from pool lights to fire pots, enjoyment of this exterior space continues after the sun goes down. To make a visual splash, a Ryan Hughes signature water feature was incorporated into the transition from the home to the outdoor spaces.

Living Room or Great Room Design Designer

Designer | Lance Hatch
LHH Interiors

Spatial Planning

The goal was to create a Great Room design with a cohesive plan addressing multiple functions (multimedia center, living room seating, dining) that flowed from one area to another.

Creative Inspiration

We wanted to create a showcase for the client’s colorful collectibles and fine art photography, which suggested a neutral palette for the room. The natural subjects (rocks, waves) in the photography inspired the use of textures.

Design Innovation

We aimed to bring the outdoors indoors through the use of neutral colors such as gray and beige in fabrics and materials for items such as the raffia two-door chest and the picture window cornice.

Spatial Planning

Maximizing the kitchen space and view was a priority. This was achieved with the inclusion of a hidden pantry, a large Sub-Zero refrigerator for events, and a large island and breakfast table.

Creative Inspiration

The client requested us to design an entertainment space that also felt cozy. This was achieved by the use of warm woods, elegant lighting and focal backsplash tile.

Design Innovation

Creating an open kitchen design that flowed into the living space, but that also offered the ability to close off the kitchen for hosted events was achieved with the inclusion of sliding doors.
