The art of “brunching” has become the most popular activity of the weekend for some—and South Florida abounds with destinations for taking part. But in a time of instant gratification, waiting for the weekend to roll around to enjoy brunch staples is no longer necessary; not when you can head to Yolk, a newly opened hotspot in Boca Raton specializing in breakfast and lunch favorites.
More than a decade ago, when there were only small-time diners or extremely high-end restaurants, owner Taki Kastanis envisioned opening a restaurant to fit the in-between niche, offering a classic diner feel with upscale, innovative meals. Yolk first opened in the South Loop neighborhood in Chicago, with locations popping up across the U.S. ever since. “The Yolk experience is all about great food, unique dishes and fantastic service, delivered with a smile,” Kastanis says.

Guests can stop by from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily to enjoy the Yolk experience, which includes indoor-outdoor seating, a pick-up window for guests on the go and a specialty coffee bar offering brews from local purveyor, Per’La.
Combine a pour of java with some of the restaurant’s top-sellers like the Breakfast Mac & Cheese, ham and bacon topped with panko Parmesan crust and a sunny-side up egg, to Chilaquiles Verde made with corn tortilla chips, salsa verde, avocado, pepper jack, red onion and crema all topped with two eggs any style. Or, go for the cheesy egg sandwich with fried eggs, tomato, cheddar, pesto sauce and bacon piled high on a toasted bagel with seasoned potatoes or cheesy grits.
For those who prefer sweet over savory, dig into delicious cinnamon roll French toast, nutella crepes (stuffed with nutella and topped with bananas, strawberries and walnuts with chocolate sauce and whipped cream), and banana-blue crunch cakes (multigrain batter mixed with almond granola and blueberries, topped with bananas and honey).
Lunch options include a selection of burgers and sandwiches to soups and salads. The pot roast sandwich will remind you of a home-cooked meal with flavors of slow-roasted tender pot roast in natural au jus, topped with melted swiss cheese on grilled sourdough.
